Jeffernandes:

I'm a little unclear what you are asking. Are you asking how to save your scene and the inventory items?

The details on how to serialize and save a scene and it's contents are beyond the scope of the Inventory System itself. This is something you need to deal with on a game-wide basis.

To save a game, I would suggest looking on the asset store and searching "save" or "save game". Here is one good, popular and free example:
Save Game-JSON+Binary

If you are having issues with the item database, you can also consider using a scriptable object to hold your database.

An example of this can be found by clicking this link.

Let me know if you need help integrating this.

When (ever) Unity releases the Retained UI, I will update this system for the new GUI, and at that time I will update the system to use scriptable objects.

Return to “Inventory (for Unity Gui)”
